Cowboys Blank Sickles 56–0

The Cowboys took care of business on the road Friday, shutting out Sickles 56–0 to move to 3–0 in 5A District 8 with the title on the line next week against Mitchell.

Junior quarterback Daniel Terry completed 80 percent of his passes for 233 yards and four touchdowns, and ran for another. Freshman Rudolph “Blaze” Ingram added 94 total yards and a touchdown.

The defense was the story. Torrance Bacon picked off a pass and took it the other way for a touchdown, Kaivon Williams added a second interception, and Ross Harris had three sacks by himself. Zyren Scott, Josiah Broaders and Brad Cobb chipped in a sack apiece.

It was Gaither’s second shutout of the season, after the 56–0 season opener against Blake.
